Child Custody Basics in Kentucky

In Kentucky, the Court decides the issue of child custody based on the best interests of the child.  The decision is based on a number of factors including but not limited to the following factors:  1) the wishes of the child, 2) the relationship between of the child to his or her parents and siblings 3) the physical and emotional health and stability of the proposed custodians 4) the education of the child, and the stability of the child in their community and their home, 5) past history if any of domestic violence or abuse.

Child custody and parenting issues have to be resolved in a sensitive and thoughtful manner.
An attorney can provide assistance with dealing with child custody and shared parenting arrangements, including legal and physical custody, parenting time and visitation arrangements,  and parental relocation before and after the separation.

In addition to parenting time, there needs to be a structure in place for making important decisions that may arise in the future regarding education, religion, and relocation issues.
If you are ready to move forward with the divorce process and child support specifics for your case,
you should consult with counsel. We ask you to consider using our services.
